Linda Marie Reschke, 73, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 13, 1951, in Yonkers, New York, to Donald H. Costello and Nancy M. Costello, Linda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and service to others.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Reschke; her devoted son, Robert (Annette) Reschke Jr.; and her cherished granddaughters, Claire and Addison. She is also survived by her siblings: Susan (Timothy) Bernovich, Nancy (Tony) O'Neil, Donalee Prince (Anthony Soverino), and Patricia (David) Scumaci; her uncle, Benjamin Valenti; and her aunt, Josephine LaSorsa. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Richard (Charlotte) Reschke, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were like family to her.
As a Nonna, Linda cherished her time with Claire and Addison, filling their lives with love and creating special memories through her specially themed Christmas Trees, handmade Halloween costumes, time at the lake home in Minnesota, and never missing a special event or game. She exceeded all expectations of what it meant to be a Nonna. As a mother, she took immense pride in her son Bob and the life he built with his wife Annette. Always saying with a smile, "That's my Bobby." Her 52-year marriage to Bob was filled with love, companionship, and adventure. Together they created a family legacy as evidenced by the close-knit relationships they fostered, traditions they established, and the values they instilled in their son and grandchildren. Their dedication to family and community has left an indelible mark.
A graduate of Mt. Assisi Academy, Class of 1969, Linda spent her career working across many industries before retiring in 2016 from Hoffer Plastics where she served as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Founder. This was a role she truly loved and the place where she connected herself to the Fox Valley community.
Throughout her life, Linda pursued many hobbies and interests including sewing, crocheting, knitting, gift basket design, and an expertise in bow making. Her talents were not just for personal enjoyment but often for the service of others.
Linda's commitment to community service was evident through her involvement with various organizations. As a Cub Scout Den Mother for Troop 3647, she inspired her son to continue on the scouting path to become an Eagle Scout. Linda was actively involved with Fox Valley Hands of Hope (formerly Fox Valley Hospice), where her creative talents were on full display. As the creative force behind their Annual Garden Party Fundraiser, her expertise in basket design, and beautiful bow making significantly contributed to the events success, raising substantial funds for the cause. Her legendary skills extended to sewing and embroidering pillowcases for the organizations children's support program, "Grief Takes a Hike". Whether crafting baskets, tying bows, or stitching pillowcases, everything Linda did was marked with pristine perfection and infused with love, making a lasting impact on the organization and those it served.
Linda Reschke lived a life of purpose, love, and creativity. Her kindness, generosity, infectious sense of humor, and hearty laughter touched everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and special, treating friends like family and always putting others before herself. A pillar of strength and a source of joy, Linda was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and service will continue to touch lives for years to come. She will be deeply missed, and forever remembered, by her family, friends, and community.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 7th at Yurs Funeral Home of St. Charles, 405 East Main Street (Corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25).
