Linda Kay (McIntosh) Roberts, 71, of Cascilla, MS, left this world to enter her heavenly home on Sunday, January12, 2025, at Grenada Living Center after bravely battling cancer for more than 20 years.
Linda was born on January 14, 1953, in Marked Tree, AR, to Clyde and Winnie McIntosh. Growing up in a tight-knit family of seven children, Linda learned from an early age the importance of God, family, and a good sense of humor.
Linda married Edgar Eugene "Eddie" Roberts on February 16, 1968. As a farmer's wife, Linda developed a love of gardening and canning foods. She became a talented seamstress and quilter. After farming in Arkansas and Oklahoma, Eddie and Linda settled in the small community of Hardy, outside of
Grenada, MS, to raise their three children.
Linda was a devoted member of Zion Grove Church of God of Prophecy. Linda enjoyed working with the children and youth ministry, including working at summer church camp, teaching Vacation Bible School, leading the Victory Leaders Band, directing the mime team, and many other activities. She worked a short while as an assistant teacher and bus driver before taking a leap of faith and entering college in 1989. Linda graduated from Holmes Community College in 1991 and then attended Delta State University. She proudly graduated from DSU on May 9, 1993, at the age of forty. Linda taught two years in the Coffeeville School District and one year at Tie Plant Elementary School before finding her home at Grenada Middle School. In her seventeen years at GMS, Linda touched the lives of countless students. After retiring in 2013, Linda loved seeing her former students and celebrating their accomplishments. She spent her time making beautiful quilts and needle-point projects. She loved being with her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her children Wendy Pettit (Jason) of Charleston, MS, Gene Roberts (Denise) of Cascilla, MS, and Susie Tingle of
