It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda May Rommes, a beloved wife, mother, and Nana, who left this world on December 7, 2024. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 2, 1948. Her life was a testament to a caring and servant's spirit, and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends.
Linda May loved the Lord and her church family. She was a pillar of the Immaculate Conception Church and served in many capacities throughout her lifetime. She enriched her community through her teaching career with the Taylor County School Board, where she made an impact on countless students and their families, by nurturing minds and fostering a love of learning. As a graduate of Florida State University, she was a life-long Seminole, long time booster, and loved watching FSU football. She was an avid gardener and loved working outdoors to create beautiful spaces.
Linda May enjoyed her time with her bridge group, the Lunch Bunch crew, and numerous special and life-long friends (Gail & Nonnie Sue). She cherished you all immensely.
She served her family unceasingly until the end of her life- always offering support, encouragement, compassion, lots of opinions, and most importantly, an infinite amount of unfailing love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Linda May is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Isadore; three daughters, Angela Wilson (Brian), Kristina Whiteside (Chris), and Erica Rommes (Chris Brunson); grandchildren Casey Wilson (Kaitlyn), Judson and Noah Whiteside, Bryson Fowler, Brantley and Miranda Cruce, Kailee Peake (Justin); brothers Ronnie Brafford (Janet) and Ricky Brafford (Susan); her beloved Brafford nieces, great-nieces and nephews, and North Carolina family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Josette Brafford.
As we celebrate Linda May's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, from 5-7 pm at Burns Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 19, at 2 pm at Immaculate Conception Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church (columbarium fund) or Alzheimer's Project (2344 Centerville Rd, Suite 105/Tallahassee, FL 32308- with "in memory of Linda Rommes" noted.
All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
