Linda Lou Russell, aged 80, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025. Born in New Albany, IN, on January 5, 1945, to the late Mary and Clyde Treece, Linda was a lifelong resident of Floyds Knobs, IN. She was widowed and had dedicated her professional career to serving others as a cafeteria cook for New Albany Floyd County Food Service. Known for her loving heart and warm smile, Linda's memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, James E. Russell, siblings: Jim Treece, Charles Treece, Susan Hill.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Russell and Jennifer (Joseph) Terry; her brother, David (Maureen); and her sister, Judy Durkalski. She was also a beloved grandmother to her five grandchildren: Lauryn, Kaylyn, Luke, Marie, and Zach, who brought her immense joy and pride, three great grandchildren: Ripley, Eden, and Wade, her great neighbors, the Becht's, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home (7420 Hwy 64, Georgetown, Indiana 47122).
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Beehive Homes of Georgetown for their excellent love and care.
Per Linda's wishes, after the service, cremation will take place, and she will be buried with her husband at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial gifts to Norton Children's Hospital.
