With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Dr. Gordon Phillips, DMD, who gently transitioned from this life on August 28, 2025. Born Larry Gordon Phillips on November 11, 1948, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Gordon was a beacon of love, compassion, and joy to all who knew him.

For four decades, Gordon resided in Georgetown, Indiana, where he made an indelible mark as a respected pediatric dentist. In his profession, he was not merely a dentist, but a friend and confidante to countless children. His dedication to his craft was evident in his gentle, reassuring demeanor, which comforted many a young patient. To quote Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." In his retirement, Gordon's legacy, his kindness and compassion, continued to echo in the hearts of the community he served so lovingly.

Gordon is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Phillips, and their son, John Phillips. His spirit will also be remembered by the many lives he touched. He joins in eternal peace his parents, Lee and Delcie Phillips, and his son, Alex Phillips. A visitation will be held in Gordon's honor on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 12:00 pm EDT at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, Indiana. A graveside service at Edwardsville Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana, will follow at 3:00 pm EDT.

Gordon's life was a testament to the power of love, empathy, and kindness. As we remember him, let us carry forward his spirit, touching lives as he did, with love and compassion. We invite all who knew Gordon to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page, keeping his legacy alive in our hearts and minds. As we remember Gordon, let his life inspire us, reminding us, in the words of Albert Schweitzer, "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others."
