Ardis Sparrow Obituary

Ardis Rae (Davis) Sparrow, 83, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Born on May 4, 1942, in New Albany, Ardis was the daughter of Walter and Ida (Miller) Davis. She spent her life deeply rooted in her community and her faith, being a long-time member of Tunnel Hill Christian Church, where she lovingly shared her musical talent by playing the piano.

Ardis dedicated a significant part of her career to the Floyd County Highway Department before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Beyond her work, she embraced life with a variety of passions, including cooking, caring for her flowers, and indulging in bird watching. She enjoyed collecting treasures found at yard sales, reflecting her eye for unique artifacts.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Tim Sparrow (Melissa), Steve Sparrow (Lesa), and Todd Sparrow (Shena), along with her adored grandchildren, Hannah Stansel (Cody), Jacob Sparrow, Nathaniel Sparrow (Hannah), Lindsay Lollar (Austin), Samuel Sparrow, Anastasia Hall, and Arianna Edwards and great-grandchildren, Harper and Ezekiel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest privately at Edwardsville-Tunnel Hill Cemetery.
