Edwin Snook Obituary

Edwin Dupee Snook, 78, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Born on April 10, 1947, in New Albany, he was the son of W H and Della (Fondau) Snook. Affectionately known as Eddie, he devoted 30 years of his life to LG&E. Following his retirement, he found enjoyment working at Bass Pro Shops, where his passion for fishing could shine.

Eddie's was deeply invested in the sport of fishing. A professional fisherman at heart, he participated in numerous local tournaments, including the FLW Everstart Series. His enthusiasm for fishing extended beyond personal competition; he was eager to share his knowledge and skills with others, especially his grandson, Devin. The family lake was his favorite fishing hole, where he created lasting memories with family and close friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda (Kinberger) Snook, and their daughter, Christina Mayfield (Matt). Eddie took great pride in his family, especially in watching Devin grow up. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Snook, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him fondly.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brothers, Dave Heintz, Ronnie, and Tom Snook.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, and will continue Thursday morning after 8:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Navilleton, located at 7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
