Lynn Sparrow Obituary
Wilmington - Lynn Ray "Bobo" Sparrow, 70, of Kinston, passed away on August 14, 2025 at the Dr. Robert M. Fales Hospice Pavillion of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington NC, after an extended illness.
Born on June 19, 1955, in Kinston, he was the youngest child of the late Lucille 'Lucy' Moore and Isaac Jay Sparrow, Jr. Affectionately know to family and friends as "Bobo", he was loved for his easy smile, kind hear, sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in need.
After graduating from Kinston High School, Lynn worked at Dupont, CopyPro, and later Coeco Office Systems until health challenges led him into early retirement. Beyond his career at a young age, he became known as a true "mister fix-it", spending countless hours in his workshop repairing almost anything. Lynn was innovative by nature and loved finding creative solutions to make everyday tasks easier. He took pride in his accomplishments, whether tinkering around his own house or lending a hand to others. His ability to see possibilities where others saw problems made him a natural problem-solver and a source of inspiration to those around him.
Lynn had a lifelong love of fishing. Often found in his favorite fishing holes on the Neuse River or Coastal fishing in Wrightsville Beach. He was rarely without the faithful company of a dog by his side. Whether on the water or at home in his workshop, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life and in the people he loved.
With a childlike nature, Lynn loved being playful with the younger children in his family. He delighted in making his nieces and nephews laugh,, teaching them little tricks, and sharing in their joy. To them, he was not only an uncle but also a playmate and a teacher, leaving behind cherished memories filled with laughter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Michael Sparrow of California, and his sister, Ollie Faye Hill of Kinston.
He is survived by his brother, Isaac Jay "Bud" Sparrow III of Wilmington, with whom he lived for the past three years; as well as beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who will forever cherish his memory.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rebecca Charles, whose loving care and attention to Lynn's personal needs over the last three years provided him with comfort, dignity, and companionship during his final journey.
