Linda Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 24, 2025.
Linda Gale Scott, a woman of remarkable generosity and keen intellect, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17th at the age of 75 in Orlando, Florida. She was born on January 25,1950, in Kansas City, Kansas.
In 1968, Linda met and later married her beloved husband, Lee Scott, during their time at Pittsburg State University. Together, they built a strong and loving partnership, raising two sons, Eric and Wyatt. Linda was a devoted mother, and her joy expanded with the arrival of her five grandchildren: Sophia, Amelia, Charlotte, Wyatt, and Wesley. She cherished their time together, building memories full of laughter and love.
Beyond her family, Linda was known for her immense generosity and philanthropic spirit. She had a deep desire to help others and consistently extended a hand to her close friends and family. A brilliant financial mind and an avid investor, Linda approached the world with intelligence and insight.
Linda found pleasure in the simple beauty of fresh flowers, the captivating pages of a good book, and the melodies of beautiful music. She also enjoyed the tranquility of fly fishing, the friendly competition of a round of golf, and the magic of a great Broadway show. A loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, Linda was always gameday ready in her red and gold with her beloved doodle Georgia by her side.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her sons, Eric and his wife, Elda, and Wyatt and his wife, Janell; her adored grandchildren, Sophia, Amelia, Charlotte, Wyatt, and Wesley; her sisters, Marcia and Karen; and her brothers, Chuck and John. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all whose lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering generosity.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Monday, July 7th.
11:00am in Hunt Chapel on the grounds of Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
Celebration Reception, immediately following at Pinnacle Golf and Country Club.
In honor of Linda's bright spirit and love for color, especially blue, we encourage you to wear your best, cheerful attire. Kindly refrain from wearing black as we focus on celebrating a life well-lived. We look forward to remembering Linda with you.

The Carron family is sorry for your loss, fond memories of Linda and Lee, not as leaders of Walmart but parents of Eric and Elda. Our prayers are with you. Thinking of you all.

Linda Scott was a bright light. She was the "First Lady" of Walmart, preceded by Helen Walton and Ruth Glass, succeeded by Susan Duke and now Shelley McMillon. If running the world´s largest company isn´t the toughest job in business, it´s certainly up there. Linda was always at Lee´s side in support, attending Walmart Shareholder and YBM Meetings and modeling the partnership that Sam and Helen started. And on top of that, raised a wonderful family and invested in the NWA community. Thanks for your example, Linda. You will always be remembered.

This is from her sister Karen Aldridge Keath. Linda is missed already by me and my family. I sent a birthday card each year except this year which I sorely regret. Linda meant a great deal to me and it doesn´t seem right she was taken so soon. I wish the condolences to Wyatt and Eric and Lee and families.
