It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Mae Shoe, born on January 2, 1943, in Newport, RI. She left us peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 82. Linda lived her life with warmth and kindness, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Linda dedicated 40 years of her life to working in housekeeping at The Viking Hotel, where her commitment and care were evident every day. She was a loving daughter, a cherished mother, and a proud grandmother. Linda is survived by her son Joseph Dugan and his wife Elisa of Akron NY; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Dugan of Point St. Lucie, Florida; her granddaughter, Samantha Dugan; and her grandson, Eric Dugan.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents David & Marjorie (Gallagher) Dugan, Her husband Mack Shoe, and her sons David and Sean Dugan.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours, held on May 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
In this time of sorrow, may we remember Linda's bright spirit and the love she brought into our lives.
