Linda K. Smith

Linda Kay Smith, born on March 16, 1952, in Conneaut, OH, to Floyd and Mabel (Baker) Smith, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Hudson,OH, after a life filled with love, faith, and music. Raised in Andover, Ohio, she was a 1971 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School, Linda remained a cherished member of her community until her recent move to Hudson, Ohio, to be closer to her daughter. Linda's greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Larkin June. A woman of deep faith, Linda instilled those values in her daughter and lived a life guided by kindness and selflessness. She wanted it to be said that at the age of 12, she discovered a lifelong passion for music, which brought her joy, comfort, and inspiration throughout her years. In her younger days, Linda enjoyed crafting and sewing, often creating handmade items to sell as to ensure memorable holidays for her daughter.
Linda most recently worked at Parker Hannifin until its closing and formed lasting friendships with coworkers. She especially treasured attending Wild Woman's Weekend in Endeavor, Pennsylvania with friends from work. She also loved spending time with her daughter exploring new places and enjoying scenic drives together. She was a true lover of nature.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughter, Larkin Smith of Mantua, Ohio; her sister Althea (Charles) Torbert of Winter Haven, Florida; and her brothers, Daniel Smith of Andover, Ohio, and Michael Smith of Naples, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilyn Ruth.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St.,Andover, OH. A memorial service will start immediately at 1:00 PM. A private burial of cremated remains will take place later in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover.
