Linda Faye Cook Soffer, age 74, of White Hall, passed away July 18, 2025.
Born at Memphis on October 15, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William Allen Cook and Dorothy Annice McGill Cook. She grew up at Earle, Arkansas where she graduated from High School.
From 1978 until 1996, she worked in administration for the United States Army. She moved to White Hall when her husband was transferred to the Pine Bluff Arsenal.
Linda was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. In 2002, she joined the U. of A. Extension Service Master Gardener Volunteer Program in Jefferson County. She became a member of the County 76 State Master Gardener Advisory Group in 2005 and held numerous leadership positions, including vice-president, president, treasurer, assistant treasurer, and PNG Leadership Conference chair. She also served as a member of the Statewide Online Reporting Team.
According to her fellow gardeners, "Linda was an irreplaceable member of the Arkansas Master Gardener Program and will be greatly missed by her fellow gardener volunteers".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Louis W. Harsson, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Stuart Douglas Soffer, whom she married November 25, 1978; her daughter, Angela Groff; a brother, Jimmy Cook; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at North Little Rock. Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services. There will be no visitation.
