Linda Pender Sorrells

Linda Gail Pender Sorrells, age 71, of Pine Level, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. She was born on February 24, 1954, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to the late Marvin Pender and Catherine (Pender) Bradshaw.
She faithfully and lovingly served her family, church, community, and friends. Linda was a graduate of Rex School of Nursing and served as a nurse for 40 years in Johnston County.
She was an active member of Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served with the WMU. In addition, she was a member of the Ladies Fireman's Auxillary, the American Legion, Pine Level Seniors, Young at Heart, and enjoyed going on numerous day trips with the Pine Level Van Pilgrims.
She was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. We find peace knowing she entered her heavenly home to be with Jesus and was reunited with her loving husband, Dwight, of 48 years.
She is survived by son, Jason Sorrells and wife, Anne; daughter, Shannon Sorrells Young and husband, Timm; grandchildren: Jane Lowry, Lilly, and Wade; sister, Phyllis Pender; brother, Eric Bradshaw and wife, Jennifer; sister-in-law, Becky Garrard; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Karen Kissel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery in Selma, North Carolina.
