Linda Kae Studts
Surrounded by God's grace, Linda Kae Studts, a faithful servant of Christ, loving wife and cherished mother and grandmother, entered eternal rest on December 27, 2025.
Born Linda Kae Rash on September 25, 1948, in Marshalltown IA, she was one of five children born to Wade and Mary (Yungwith) Rash. Linda graduated in 1967 from Lenihan High School where she was also crowned homecoming queen her senior year.
Linda married Michael Baumgartner in Marshalltown in 1967. Born to this union were her children Scott, Tracy and Jenni. They later divorced. Linda raised her family in
Oelwein, IA and in 1994 met the love of her life, James Studts. In 1995 Linda moved back to her hometown and married James, welcoming into her life and heart, his children, Jamie, Joey and Janna.
While living in Oelwein, once her children all began attending school, she began employment with Kmart, where she became the footwear manager for the Meldisco Company. She continued working there for 16 years until making the move to Marshalltown with Jim. Linda worked there as a CNA for Southridge Specialty Care and then as a pre-tester at Eyecare Associates. Upon Retiring in 2006, Linda and Jim moved to
Fairfield Bay, AR where Linda would volunteer at the public library and for 10 years as an EMT for the Fairfield Bay area.
In her earlier years, Linda enjoyed playing softball & volleyball. She loved crafting and attended ceramics classes where she painted may treasured pieces for family. Linda made candles and enjoyed making handmade cards, quilts & Afghans for herself and family. Linda enjoyed line dancing, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. But her most beloved activities were spending time with her family. Linda loved to travel and made trips as far as Germany to spend time with son Joe and his family. For 15 years Linda and Jim would snowbird in
Destin, FL where she loved walking hand in hand with Jim on the white sand beaches.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 30 years, James, her children Scott (Tracy) Baumgartner of Liberty, IL, Tracy (Kyle) Carl-son of Wayland IA, and Jenni (Jeremy) Birdnow of Jesup, IA as well as her stepchildren Jamie (Tina) Studts, Joey (Margot) Studts and Janna (Derek) Wirth. Grandchildren; Stephanie, Devin and Ryan Baumgart-ner, Matthew (Shannon), Hanna, Dylan (Rachel) Calson, Jensen Shan-non (Niko Griffith), Samantha, Bailey and Brooklyn Wirth, Martin, Anna & Luisa Studts & Shannon and Cait Studts, along with 5 great grandchildren. Her sister Cheryl (Larry) Murphey and brother Ed (Chris) Rash and brother-in-law John Studts along with several nieces and nephews, countless friends and loved ones. In death, she rejoined her parents, her in-laws Robert and Avonelle Studts, her sisters and brother-in-law Lee Ann (Larry) Hatton and Don-na (Charles "Chuck") Gummert, sister-in-law Helen Studts along with three of her nieces.
Linda's family would like to say a special thank you to all the phenomenal nurses at Gentiva Hospice for their care and support over the last few months.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday January 2, 2026 at Fairfield Bay Baptist Church,
Fairfield Bay, ARInterment and a Celebration of Life will be held in Iowa at a later date.
