Linda A. Swed, a beacon of kindness and warmth, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 77 in Clifton, NJ, not far from where her story began in Passaic, NJ, on February 11, 1948. Linda's life was a tapestry of dedicated service and unwavering support for her community and the causes dear to her heart.
Linda's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of her late parents, John M. Swed and Julia (nee Dudas) Swed. Her journey of lifelong learning and personal growth took a significant stride forward as she pursued her education at Berkeley College in Woodland Park, where she honed the skills that would serve her well throughout her professional life.
Professionally, Linda was known for her diligent work ethic and friendly demeanor, which made her a cherished employee at Main Events in Totowa and Lummus Corp. in Bloomfield.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda's heart was deeply rooted in her community. She was a former parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton, where her faith and fellowship were a testament to her loving nature. Her commitment to service was further exemplified by her roles as an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #46 of Rochelle Park, NJ, and the NJ Honor Legion. Linda's passion for law enforcement was matched by her dedication to animal rescue, a cause that she supported with fervor and generosity.
Linda's involvement with the Little Falls Women's Club was another avenue through which she expressed her caring spirit and leadership. Her ability to connect with people, to listen, and to offer a helping hand in the broader community.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as the epitome of kindness, friendliness, and love. Her smile could light up a room, and her compassion knew no bounds. She was a friend to many, always ready with a kind word or a comforting embrace. Linda's legacy is one of love and service, and it is a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Linda is survived by her extended family, Melanie Ryerson, Robert Tabaka, and Garrabrant Tabaka, who will miss her dearly but take comfort in the countless memories they shared. She was predeceased by her beloved fiancé, Brian Lombardo, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
As we bid farewell to Linda A. Swed, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so freely. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished forever. Linda's journey on earth may have come to a close, but the love she spread and the impact she made will resonate for generations to come.
