With heavy hearts and a lifetime of fond memories, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and all-around glue that holds us together, Linda Teichman, who left us on January 18, 2025, at the age of 65.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dayton Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in her honor to Colona School.
Linda, born on November 6, 1959, was a loving, caring, patient (until she wasn’t), and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to her family, friends, and community. She married Dennis Teichman on June 11, 1977, and together created a forever growing family tree. She was a loving and caring mother to six children no matter what they did, and an honorary mother to countless others who were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of her kind heart. Her nurturing spirit and boundless affection left a mark on all who knew her.
As a longtime community member, Linda was the face you’d see leading Girl Scout meetings, Colona School PTA events, bounding from one sporting event to the next, and to small town gatherings. She served enthusiastically with the City of Green Rock/Colona, the Jaycees, Colona Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Colona Park District, and made it her mission to help others while also finding time for her artistic hobbies - painting, sewing, crafting and creating.
As a woman of remarkable creativity and talent, Linda was known for her artistic talents and DIY spirit. She was the queen of going to craft shows to find things that she knew she could make herself “cheaper” than she could buy it there. If she wasn't camping, attending a meeting or crafting something beautiful, you could find her doting on her 11 grandchildren, who were spoiled with love, and far too many grandkid privileges.
She leaves behind her husband, Dennis; six children, Amanda (Ron) Stablein; Jessica Teichman; Dwayne (Renee) Teichman; Melissa (Ryan) Sweeney; Derek (Nikki) Teichman; Victoria (Stephen) Meyers. In addition to being an incredible mother, she was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren, whom she loved deeply: Abi Sweeney; Emersyn Teichman; Garrett Sweeney; Theodore Waldron; Iris Teichman; Hadley Teichman; Everett Meyers; Bennett Teichman; Reese Meyers; Wyatt Sweeney; Lincoln Teichman. She is also survived by several siblings, including Stacy (Ty) Simmon, her sister-in-law Kathy Teichman, and many beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law William and Barbara Teichman, sister Christine Carver, and brother-in-law Curtis Teichman.
We were truly blessed to have incredible caregivers who provided unwavering support and care for Linda. Our heartfelt thanks go to the nurses and staff at Compassus, who patiently answered our questions and guided us as we navigated this journey. We also want to express our deep gratitude to all of those who came into our home and treated Linda like family, most recently Angie, Sheri, Liz, and Destiny. Your kindness and compassion meant the world to us, and we will forever be grateful for the love and care you showed her.
Rest in peace. Your unconditional love will live on in all of us, inspiring us to carry that same love forward in everything we do. Her legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
