The Funeral Service for Mrs. Linda Jean Lewis Thomas of Smithville, Georgia will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Green Grove Baptist Church in Smithville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Linda Jean Lewis Thomas, affectionally known as "Bebe", was born in Lee County, Georgia, on January 4, 1953, to the parentage of the late Lutherine Ware Lewis and the late Robert Lee Lewis, Sr.
Bebe was educated in the Lee County Public School system in Leesburg, Georgia. At an early age, she accepted Christ in her life and joined the Green Grove Baptist Church, where she served on the culinary ministry and assisted with vacation bible school until the Lord called her home on Friday morning, January 17, 2025, at the Trauma & Critical Care Tower in Albany, Georgia with her husband at her side.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Charlie C. Thomas, whom she called "Hun" for 55 years. To this union two sons were born. Their youngest son, Cletus Thomas, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Ada Lewis, Joyce Daniels and Jeanette Goodin; her brothers: Willie Edward Nash, Jessie Nash, Eugene Nash, and Robert L. Lewis; sisters-in-law: Ada Barner and Gloria Nash; and brother-in-law, Eugene Goodin.

Thomas of Smithville, Georgia; her son, Keith (Renee) Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren: Dante and Darius Thomas both of Tallahassee, Florida, Martice and Mikayla Thomas both of Americus, Georgia, and Jalen Thomas of Leesburg, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Ja' Cavion, Kori, and Demi Thomas, all of Americus, Georgia; her sister, Gladys (Jessie) Timmons of Leslie, Georgia; her brother, Randolph Lewis of Smithville, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Gussie Mae Bess, Carrie Mae Thomas, Annie (George) Peeples, Doris (William) Angry, and Patricia Thomas all of Smithville, Georgia, and Dorothy Nash of Leslie, Georgia; brothers-in-law: Wardell (Diana) Thomas of Preston, Georgia, William (Mary) Thomas III of Leslie, Georgia, and Leon (Phyllis) Thomas of Petersburg, Virginia; one aunt of Smithville, Georgia; two aunts and two uncles of Dunkirk, New York; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, caring friends and the Green Grove Church Family, also survive.
