Linda Travis, age 72, of Medford, Oregon, passed away on July 23, 2024. Born on October 16, 1951, in Oakland, California, to Ken and Harriet Larsen, she was the youngest of three and was preceded in death by her sisters Harriet and Charlotte.
Linda Larsen moved to the Rogue Valley in the mid-60's, graduating from Medford High School in 1969. After a short courtship, Linda married Boyd Travis on August 15th, 1970, and their devotion to each other kept them together till the very end.
While Boyd worked at UPS, Linda worked at home, and together they raised Jennifer and John. She has left behind a large number of family members, including her grandchildren Austin and Colton, as well as her great-grandson Remington. and many "framily," aka friends.
Linda devoted her life to her family, friends, and the love of cars, along with so many other interests. Linda was known to cook dinner, rebuild engine parts, and do detail painting in the dining room. Her love for classic cars led her to be a part of different car clubs, including the Obsolete Fleet, later changed to the classic Chevy Club, and the North West Camaro Association Club. She played a role in helping expand the Medford Cruise as one of the major valley events, receiving a "booster of the year award" from the Medford Chamber of Commerce.
Often referred to as "one of the guys," those who knew Linda respected her knowledge of cars and mechanics, and everyone knew of her love for driving and showing off the beautiful machines.
While Linda was not much for the workforce, working only a few short years at Harry and David, she certainly made up for it with all her activities throughout the years.
Linda had a not-so-secret obsession with teddy bears, which included Boyd's Bears, as well as rocks, plants, and anything with an interesting texture, color, or special meaning. While being a homemaker, she made sure to expose her children to many different pets, such as fish, birds, cats, and dogs. Later in life, this love for dogs led her to help with the Portland-based Great Dane Society. When traveling, she preferred Hawaii over other destinations-the call of the ocean, warm waters, and sunshine. These diverse interests allowed Linda to meet and talk to many different people and fill the home with special memories.
With her departure, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and beauty and should be remembered as an avid supporter of her community and a friend to many. She was a source of inspiration for those who heard her laughter, saw her creativity, and felt her spirit, but the memories she created will continue to bloom like the flowers in her garden.
A celebration to honor Linda will be held at Angelo's Pizza, 2161 West Main St., Medford, 97501. We will be dressed casually while we enjoy some pizza and the company of friends and family, but if possible, we would love to see your hot rod shine. Please feel free to share this invitation with others who knew Linda and wish to help us celebrate. Let us know if you will be able to join us via Facebook comments or text messages to Boyd, Jennifer, or John.

Thank you, Linda and Boyd for what you brought to this town. The Cruise Nights for Medford brought family fun to lots of families. You always put in the hard work to make it successful. Some of us remember the work you brought to the event!!! May your road cruise in the stars point the headlights to us. Buckle up and shine. Sincerely best to family, Shirley Peters Kammel
