Linda Sue (Seddon) Upton, age 85, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at her home.

She was born April 14, 1940, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of John Robert Seddon and Easter Lilly Seddon.

She attended public school in Canton, IL, and later North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN, where she met her life partner and sweetheart, Donald Robert Upton. They were married on August 11, 1961, in Canton, Illinois. Together they served Assembly of God churches as Youth Pastors in Duluth, Minnesota, and Senior Pastors at Waupaca Assembly, West Layton Assembly and Madison First Assembly, all in Wisconsin. They later moved to Springfield, Missouri, where she served the Assemblies of God Women's Ministries Department for 19 years in several roles, including National Missionettes Coordinator. Following her years in Women's Ministry she served alongside her husband at Injoy Ministries with John Maxwell and Mesa First Assembly where she and Don were Associate Pastors.

Linda was an active member in the church from the time she was a small girl. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a very young age. Through her years she was involved in children's crusades, music, radio broadcasts, women's ministries, missions, Bible studies, and a variety of other ministries. Through every season of life Linda dedicated time and efforts ministering to others. She had a unique gift of making everyone feel special and seen. Her gift of hospitality welcomed everyone to her home for meals, games and fellowship. She was a wonderful mom and Nana, creating a loving and fun home for her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Easter Seddon; siblings, John Seddon, George Seddon and Mary Lee Schaible; and grandson, Kieran Nathaniel Upton.

She is survived by her husband, Don Upton; children, Dorynda Carpenter (Dean), Donyta Upton (Tracy), Brian Upton (Stephanie), Brent Upton (Noelle);13 grandchildren, Zach Carpenter (Rachel), Caleb Carpenter, Jared Carpenter (Heather), Olivia Stockdale (Cody), Trenton Ball, Christopher Upton (Nikki), Ashleigh Upton (Jessica), Victoria Jordan (Jessie), Sam Upton, Noah Upton (Tricia), Jonah Upton (Hannah), Joram Upton, Sabrina Sabin (Ben), and 11 great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Madelynn, Oliver, Brooklynn, Jayden, Jaxon, Caiden, Zara, Esther, Georgia, and Adler. Linda is also survived by her sister, Margie Lou (Seddon) Bollinger.

A Memorial Service will be held at Central Assembly of God, 1301 N Boonville Ave., Springfield, Missouri, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. All arrangements will be handled by Greenlawn East, including floral deliveries by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025.
