Graveside services for Ms. Linda Watson, 79, of Chapel Hill, formerly of Houston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Crims Chapel Cemetery under the pavilion. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Ms. Watson passed from this life to her home in Heaven on September 22, 2025 at her residence. She was born July 20, 1946, in Hughes Springs to the late Silas Henry and Lizzie Mae (Berry) Watson. Linda, or "Lynn" as she was known to close family and friends, was raised in East Texas, finally settling with her family in the Crims Chapel Community and attending First Baptist Church Crims Chapel. She graduated from Henderson High School and went on to graduate from East Texas Baptist College now ETBU. Ms. Watson dedicated her life to the education of children and taught elementary school in the Houston Independent School District for 34 years. Upon her retirement from Briargrove Elementary in 2003, she returned home to East Texas where the family had moved to Chapel Hill. Although she never had children, Lynn loved and doted on her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She offered wisdom, humor, friendship and unconditional love that could never be measured. She also poured her life into the many children she taught for 34 years. After moving back from Houston, a beautiful friendship blossomed with her neighbors Jason and Mary-Michal, and she became an "Honorary Grandmother" to Paizley and later, Tate. While in Houston, Lynn became the best of friends with several colleagues: Rosie, Phoebe, Lindy, Rene, and Vicky, as well as others, and the group, known as "The Hoochies", would share numerous trips, laughs, and unforgettable memories over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond Watson, Don Watson, and Stanley Watson. Survivors include her brother Johnnie Dwayne Watson of Chapel Hill; sisters-in-law Pat Watson of Tyler and Robbie Watson of Henderson; niece Connie Watson and husband Eric Newell and her children and their families; nephew Lee Watson and wife Cindy and their children and families; close neighbors and friends Jason and Mary-Michal Fleniken and their children Paizley and Tate; and a host of cousins and close friends in the Houston area. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.

Linda was such a sweet quiet and sometimes shy classmate of mine in Henderson. She was also the niece of my favorite coach, Charles Watson. Rest in Peace lovely lady!

I treasure our long precious friendship. We had so many wonderful trips and adventures together. You battled your ALS with so much grace. My life was so blessed because you were in it. I know you are dancing in the streets of heaven. I know I will see you again my friend. Thank you for blessing my life.
