Funeral Services were held for Mrs. Linda Sue Freeman Wolfe, age 77, at Calvary Baptist Church at 1993 Hwy 3062 in Homer, LA, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Steve Beard, officiated. Interment followed at Tulip Cemetery near Marsalis, LA. Visitation was at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Linda was born in Minden, LA, on September 28, 1945, to Emory L. and Marceil Prince Freeman. She entered into rest on Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Linda loved to sew and made her children’s and grandchildren’s clothes over the years. The great-grandchildren had stuff animals that she made for them. After Billy, her husband’s passing, Mrs. Linda made pillows out of his night clothes for her children. She enjoyed to garden in her yard and hydrangea were her favorite flowers. Some of Mrs. Linda’s hobbies were coloring and puzzles. Mrs. Linda was a Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist church where she taught for the nursery age children from newborn to four years of age. She cherished the time she had with family and friends.
Mrs. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy H. Wolfe; son, Perry Wolfe; and sister-in-law, Ann Lewis Freeman.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Wolfe and wife Janet of Homer, LA: daughter, Shnell Staggs of Homer, LA; sister, Neda McLamery of Homer, LA; brother, Joe Freeman of Homer, LA; seven grandchildren, Andrew and wife Stormee, Ashley, D.J., Dustin, Anthony, Shannon and Ashley; thirteen great-grandchildren, Adleighana, Lillian, Elias, Brooklynn, Hunter, Lakelynn, Haliee, Heather, Landon, Piper, Ransom, Cathy, and Courtney; two sisters-in-law, Phranalia Mason and Perolyn Owens; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Linda’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Scott Haynes, Dr. William C. Alexander and their staffs for the care and compassion shown Momma during her short illness.
Pallbearers were Mark Freeman, Wesley Mason, D.J. Wolfe, Anthony Wolfe, Andy Staggs, Dusty Staggs, and Ashley Staggs.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Linda, her family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church Nursery Fund.
