Rev. Linden Wayne Damschroder, a devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. He was born on October 25, 1939, in Elmore, Ohio, to the late Lincoln and Laural Damschroder. His journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to faith and community.

Linden's educational pursuits began in his hometown, where he graduated from Harris-Elmore High School in 1957. He went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, in 1961, before earning a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina, in 1965. This strong foundation in education equipped him for a lifetime of service.

In 1965, Rev. Damschroder was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church. Over the years, he lovingly served congregations across Ohio, making significant impacts at Hayes Memorial UMC in Fremont, Trinity UMC in Bloomdale, Central UMC in Toledo, Asbury UMC in Columbus, St. Andrew UMC in Beavercreek, Wilmington UMC in Wilmington, Church of the Master in Westerville, and St. Paul UMC in Celina. His faithfulness to his calling touched countless lives in the name of Jesus Christ.

Linden was preceded in death by his beloved wife and partner in ministry of nearly 58 years, Claudia Lou Damschroder. Together they shared countless memories, demonstrating love and strength in their family and the communities around them.

He is survived by his sons, Brian (Roxanne) Damschroder and Mark (Alise) Damschroder, who carry forward his legacy of faith and service. His grandchildren, Cara, Drew, Emma, Ella, and step-grandchildren, Lester, Rachaele, Raquell, and great granddaughter Emelia will remember him fondly. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, Keith (Judy) Damschroder, nephew, Michael Damschroder, and niece, Sherry Damschroder, to cherish his memory.

Rev. Linden's spirit lives on through the lives he touched, and he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
