It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lindsey R. Raughton, age 39, who left us too soon. She passed away at her home in Wetumpka, Alabama, on Monday, July 28, 2025.
She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Matthew Lee Raughton and their wonderful son, Jackson Hobb Raughton, her devoted parents, Earl and Pam Steele, her grandfather, Heflin (Tom) Partridge, her sister, Amy (Butch) Gilmore, her aunts, Debbie (Cleve) Dowdy, Cindy (Kirk) Chandler, her uncles, Mike (Michelle) Partridge, Greg (Diana) Partridge, and Steve (Tracy) Partridge, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her loving mother-in-law, LouAnn Raughton, her paternal grandfather-in-law Winfred "Chuck" Raughton, and her sister and brother-in-law, Amanda (Charlie) Warner, her aunt-in-law Mary (Brian) Hodge and uncle-in-law Kenny (Jan) Phipps. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Frances E. Partridge and Clarence and Mamie Steele, and her father-in-law, Mark Raughton, Her Aunt Nancy Gauntt.
Lindsey was born and raised in
Andalusia, Alabama and was a member of the 2004 Andalusia High School graduating class. Lindsey went on to LBW Community College receiving her Associates Degree in 2006 and then Troy University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 2008. Lindsey began her career with the State of Alabama in October, 2008, and has continued to work for many agencies within the State government. She was currently employed with the Office of Information Technology as a Senior Accountant. She was extremely creative and had a passion for anything that was a challenge. Her latest accomplishment was establishing "The Cookie Jar," which she excelled at and it became a tremendous success.
Lindsey was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her kindness, laughter, strong faith and the warmth she brought into every room. She had a deep love for Jesus and her church, especially her WOW Women's Ministry. She loved traveling with her family, especially Disney World and the beach, photography, crafting and shopping. What she loved most was her husband Matt, son Jackson and family. She loved her beloved dog, Pepper.
Though her time with us was far too short, her love, strength and beautiful soul will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Services for Lindsey Raughton will be held at 11am at Adellum Baptist Church on Friday, August 1, 2025, with visitation one hour before services. Bro. Billy Boles and Bro. Ben Stewart will be officiating with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
