Linnie "Mabel" Pritz, age 89 of Collinsville IL, born March 25, 1935 in New Albany, MS, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at her residence. Mabel was surrounded by her family during her last moments.
In Mabel's free time, she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and watching the hummingbirds at feeders her daughter put out for her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Cox and Bessie Mae Robinson; her husband, Eugene David Pritz; two sons, Danny Lee Dixon and Tommy Stephen Dixon; as well as a grandson, Rodney Victor Lewis.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Marie (Crasinna) Lewis; two sons, Ricky Allen (Pamela) Lewis and James Ronald (Denise) Lewis; and her sister, Vivan (Bob) Luker. Mabel also had many, many grandchildren.
A visitation service will be held at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 1 to 6 p.m. The family is requesting everyone wear purple in honor of Mabel's favorite color.
Special acknowledgements to the grandchildren who were by Mabel's side and helped to care for her during her final moments: Courtney Russell, James Russell, Courtney Keller, and Gracie Bieser.
Memorials are suggested to the Dementia Society of America and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
