Irene Ulsaker Obituary

Born October 13, 1931, in Quincy, IL, Irene was the daughter of the late Everett L. and Verna (née Willett) Keemle. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Nowlain, whom she married on October 14, 1950; her second husband, Lawrence Ulsaker; and her brother, Raymond Keemle.
Irene is lovingly remembered by her three children: Robert Nowlain II of San Francisco, CA; Kay (James) Robbins of Troy, IL; and Richard (Brenda) Nowlain of Fort Atkins, WI. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Irene led a life dedicated to service and family. She was a retired school secretary and also held roles as a secretary for a cardiac surgeon and at U.S. embassies in Pakistan and Nairobi. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and had a deep love for her dogs.
In accordance with her wishes, Irene will be cremated, and a private burial will take place at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Partners for Pets and may be mailed or dropped off at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
