Lino Cortez Arispe, 57, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., as family and friends gather to honor his memory.
Born on January 28, 1968, in Abilene, Texas, to Elias Garcia Arispe Sr. and Mary Cortez Arispe, Lino was a proud West Texan through and through. From an early age, he showed a deep love for hands-on work, an ear for good music, and a heart made for family.
Lino was truly a man's man -there was very little he couldn't fix, build, or improve. He made his mark through his work in construction, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail earned him the respect of many. But perhaps his greatest craft was found at the grill. As a Pit Master, Lino had a gift for BBQ, and he took immense pride in preparing meals that brought people together. His backyard cookouts were legendary, filled with laughter, music, and the distinctive smell of mesquite smoke.
Lino also had a passion for music-it was the soundtrack to his life. He shared his unique taste and passion for music with his sons daily. From Guns N Roses to Nirvana and NWA, Lino was always indulged in music and all it had to offer!
Above all else, Lino cherished his family. His hugs were real, his advice honest, and his loyalty unwavering. He was a man of quiet strength, deep sincerity, and boundless generosity. Lino had a way of making people feel welcome, seen, and loved. His presence had a way of filling a room-with warmth, with laughter, with a steady strength that grounded those around him.
Lino leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, community, and unforgettable memories. His love was a gift that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
Lino was preceded in death by Elias Garcia Arispe Sr. (Father), Mary Cortez Arispe (Mother) and Paul Balint Jr. (Nephew).
Left to cherish his memories are: two Sons; Elias Gilbert Arispe of Abilene, Texas and Nicco Ray Arispe and wife Mystica Arispe of Forney, Texas; three sisters, Carmen Balint of Abilene, Texas, Yolanda Jacques and husband David of Burnett, Texas, Linda Piazza and husband Hector of Abilene, Texas; one brother, Elias Garcia Arispe Jr. of Abilene, Texas; a grandson, Steven Jose Rodriguez-Arispe of Winters, Texas; two granddaughters, Harmonie Eleayah Arispe and Lyla Belle Amada Arispe of Forney, Texas; along numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who he cared for and loved deeply.
