MARS HILL-Linwood E. Cox Jr, 87, went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2025, in Corinth, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 15, 1938, in Alton, Maine, a son of the late Linwood and Alice (Young) Cox. He graduated from Old Town High School and worked in construction installing dry wall throughout Maine and New Hampshire.
The most important things to Linwood were his family and his faith. He loved music, played the guitar, and sang with his wife, Dottie, who played the piano. He and Dottie had served at Charleston Church in bus ministry, Sunday school teaching and music for over 20 years, and has touched many lives for the Lord. He had been a faithful member of Sanctuary Church, formerly the Full Gospel Assembly in Mars Hill, for the last 12 years.
He is survived by his children: Debbie Dunfee and husband Mark, David Cox and wife Barbie, John Cox and wife Karen, and Trudi Valdivia and husband Stephen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Francis Burr; and beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dottie Cox; infant sister, Dorothy; two brothers, Bill and Earl; and granddaughter, Abigail Cox.

A time of visiting will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Sanctuary Church, 9 Maple Street, Mars Hill, Maine, with Rev. Wes Faloon officiating. A time of fellowship will follow. A committal will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Alton Cemetery, 3420 Bennoch Road, Alton, Maine.
