Mr. Linwood Bennett Granger, Sr, beloved husband, father, grandfather peacefully passed away April 29, 2025 at the blessed age of 91. He was born in Halifax County, VA on October 6, 1933 to the late Clarence Craddock Granger and the late Peachie Hatcher Granger. He was married 63 years to Van Wade Granger who survives.
Linwood was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He was a retired tobacconist and tax preparer. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting ducks and all sports, especially baseball. His passing will leave a void in all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Van Wade Granger of South Boston; his son Ben Granger (Andrea) of Estero, FL; three grandchildren, Hannah G. Dracos (Sam) of Estero, FL, Wade Granger of Woodbridge, VA, Morgan Granger of Estero, FL; one sister, Carolyn Cook Landrum (Jimmy) of Halifax, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Craddock Wesley Granger.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
