Lisa Darlene Akins, 63, of
Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, March 8, 1962, in
Paris, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Odell Burkeen and Pauline Sexton Burkeen.
Lisa was known for her love, kindness, and devotion to family. Lisa was known for her gentle, nurturing spirit and the unconditional love she extended not only to her immediate family, but also to her extended family and all those who came into her life.
Her heart for children was evident in the way she welcomed many into her home, caring for them and loving them as if they were her own. Lisa was formerly employed as a driver for Powell Transportation, but her most cherished role was that of a stay-at-home mother, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to providing her family with love, stability, and care.
Family was the center of Lisa's world. She especially treasured her role as "Nana," a title she wore with pride and joy, and nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent with her grandchildren. Lisa also enjoyed shopping and searching for special finds at yard sales.
One of the highlights of Lisa's year was "Sister Day," a tradition she shared with her beloved sister, Donna. Together they attended the Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival, creating memories that Lisa held close to her heart.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, selfless nature, and the many lives she touched through her compassion and care. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
