Lisa Ann Fowler, 60, of North Haven, CT, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at home.
Early on Lisa was married to Richard Pohle and blessed with two children, Jennifer Marie Pohle of Providence, RI, and Elizabeth Rose Pohle of Wallingford, CT. She is the proud Mema of Jude Moquin. Lisa was born March 20, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY to Louis Anthony Cianciotta and Mildred Ellen (Morganelli) Cianciotta, both deceased. Lisa is survived by her stepfather, Robert A. Stange who married her mother November 12, 1977, and raised her from the age of 11; her sister, Katherine Cianciotta Vanvooren; her stepmother, Connie Rue-Stange; nephews, Christopher (Bethany) Oggenfuss, Ryan Oggenfuss and Dakota (Alexa Melton) Smart; and several grand nieces and nephews.
Lisa is predeceased by her sister Stephanie Oggenfuss Smart of Ware Shoals, SC, and her grandparents, Mario Richard (of Nicola) Morganelli and Mildred Gloria (Arrighi) Morganelli of New York City. She is also predeceased by her husbands, Alphonse Nicholas Gambardella and George "GW" Winthrop Fowler.
After graduating from Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, NJ., she became a Navy wife, first living in Southern New Jersey, then Virginia Beach, VA and eventually relocating to East Haven, CT with her family.
Her compassion for others drew her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in caring for Dementia and Alzheimer's patients for over 20 years. Her kindness and devotion will always be remembered. After some time, she attended Gateway Community College to study phlebotomy. However, during the past 13 years, the Muscular Dystrophy (MD) prevented Lisa from doing the work she enjoyed most.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tracey, Sharon and Brenda, for their care and devotion to Lisa.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 12:00 Noon, at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to The Muscular Dystrophy Association (mda.org) in Lisa's h

When I first met Lisa we instantly formed a friendship as we were much alike. We both idealized our families, were passionate about caring for others and loved animals especially cats. We spent many days sharing stories about our children, our parents and many past experiences. Lisa loved watching movies and she introduced me to many tear jerkers and we would cry until we were all red eyed and stuffy. She also loved any movie starring Rob Lowe, her favorite was Young Blood.

Although I was the caregiver, on many day Lisa was my caregiver. Giving me a pep talk or listening to my tales of woe and giving me advice. She was a great listener and she had tons of empathy.

Anytime I make eggplant parm or stuff peppers I will fondly remember how much she enjoyed these dishes and how much she raved about them.

If there is one thing I learned from Lisa is that the important things in life are our family and our good friends. Lisa was pretty much homebound in the last years but she enjoyed the simple things in life and never complained. She found joy in her family and friends.
