It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Maribel Valentin, 58, of New Haven. She was a cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend and her loving presence will be missed by all the lives she's touched. Maribel passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends. Maribel was born on August 8th, 1966, in Arecibo Puerto Rico to parents Santos Valentin and Elisa Morales. Maribel was an amazing woman who never hesitated to share the love she had with everyone she came in contact with and would be the first one to tell a joke and put a smile on your face. Her devotion and care was unmatched to the ones she held close. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alex Ortiz, children Cassandra Diaz, Jose Rodriguez and Eric Ortiz; Her son-in-law James Diaz, Daughter-in-laws Genesis Rodriguez and Ashley Roman; Her 7 grandchildren, Ariana Rodriguez, Sophia Diaz, Aniyah Rodriguez, Olivia Diaz, Jacob Diaz, Alina Rodriguez, Amara Rodriguez; Her Siblings Maria Valentin, Carmen Valentin, Santos Valentin, Hector Valentin, Marangely Avila, Victor Avila, Fernando Valentin, Zoraida Valentin, Yahaira Valentin, and Jose Valentin. Maribel had such a genuine caring soul and lived life to the fullest without any fear. She left an everlasting impression on all the lives she touched, there was never a moment where you couldn't turn to her, and even if it was just a smile or a laugh you left feeling loved and at ease. She was an amazing wife who always found the time to make sure her husband was always a priority no matter what she had been going through. She loved her children above all else and the beautiful grandchildren they created. She never hesitated to drop everything to make sure she didn't miss a birthday, a holiday, a recital or any of the other many adventures they shared. To her Siblings she was a second mom, someone who always stepped in to make sure they were okay, taken care of and loved Losing her leaves a huge hole in all our hearts that can only be filled with the many many beautiful memories we've made. The visiting hours will be on Friday, January 3rd from 3 to 6 PM in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Any floral arrangements can be sent to the funeral home ahead of the service.

God bless you and your family. One day she and I went to New York City to see a Broadway comedy. Maribel was so excited when she found out that Rosie Perrez was in it. It was a great day.
