Lisa E. Gervais, a 14 year resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on January 14, 2024 at home. She was 64.
The daughter of the late Louis and Emily (Weinsheimer) Gervais, Lisa was born in Beacon on May 21, 1959. Her family later moved to Wappingers Falls, where she spent her childhood, and graduated from Ketcham High School. She was a former member of the Hughsonville Fire Department and had attended St. Joachim Church in Beacon. Lisa proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 until she was medically
discharged in 1995. After leaving the military she settled in San Diego, CA where she worked at Scandinavian Flight Academy as head of the maintenance department of the power plant and airframe division.
In 2000 she moved back to New York to care for her father and later remained to help care for her sister. Lisa's life was marked by her love for her family, friends, and animals, especially wolves and horses. She will be remembered as the generous and considerate woman she was.
Lisa is survived by her brother, Marc Gervais; her sisters, Andrea Gervais and Denise Paolilli; her nieces and nephews, Renee (Dennis) Paolilli, Trevor (Serena) Dhalla, Shafic (Diana) Dhalla, Zarah Dhalla, Jasmyn Gervais-Cierniak, Luke (Gracie) Cierniak, Andrew Delsanto, Connie Gervais Brock; her grandnephew, Landon Dhalla, her adopted brothers and very special friends George Bender, Jr. and Frank Gregorec; many friends and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Lisa was predeceased by her sister, Janine Dhalla and her nephew Deion Snell.
Funeral services will be private for the family.
