Lisa Ann Herron, 64, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the Ernestine M. Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka, Indiana. In her last days, Lisa was surrounded by the love of her friends and family.

Lisa was born July 2, 1961, in South Bend, IN, to Minnie (Warren) Owens and Ulysses Moody. She graduated from Clay High School in South Bend and attended 3 years of college at Indiana University of South Bend where she studied Criminal Justice. Lisa then went on to become a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years, before working several years in retail at JCPenney and Meijers. Lisa was a lover of learning and helped inspire 4 of her children to receive college degrees. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She also loved cooking and collecting jewelry.

Lisa is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, James E. Herron Jr.; her daughters, Andrea (Dexter) Wade of Texas, Raven Herron of Kentucky, Kellie (Marques) Harris of South Bend; her sons, Carleton (Keisha) Butler of Florida, James T. Herron of South Bend, and 8 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Sheila Warren, Lovie (Theodore) Verstraete of Alabama, and Dennis Moody, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother and father, and 3 siblings Linda Moody, Robert Owens Jr., and Keith Owens.

Funeral services for Lisa will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 12:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00am. Burial at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN will immediatley follow. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family.
