Lisa H Honecker

Lisa Salerno Honecker, 64 passed away at home in Bernardsville, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, after a short illness. Born in 1958 in Morristown, New Jersey, Lisa spent most of her life in Bernardsville and was a graduate of Bernards High School.
Lisa was also a graduate of the American Institute of Paralegal Studies and the Stafford Hall School of Business. She also attended Raritan Valley Community College working towards her Associate's Degree. Lisa worked for over twenty years as a legal assistant and executive assistant, most notably for The Chubb Group. At home, she was the glue that kept the house together, always adding special touches to make her family feel comfortable and happy. Lisa was an avid reader, always up on current events and could argue politics with the best of them. She was the First Lady of Bernardsville from 2006 through 2014, helping her husband campaign to win two 4-year terms as Mayor. But her passions were writing and gardening. She was a published poet with over forty poems to her credit and a member of Women Who Write, a group she dearly loved. As a gardener, Lisa was forever in the yard planting, weeding and directing her husband where to lay huge bags of mulch. She rotated her plantings seasonally and every fall she would grow small orange gourds to place along the very top of their front fence. Lisa will be remembered by her family as a selfless and devoted wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Lee C. Honecker of Bernardsville, and their two daughters, Candace Leigh Honecker of Portland, Oregon and Cassandra Rose Honecker of Bernardsville, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM.
