Lisa Beth Mackley, born on the 22nd of July, 1964, in
Provo, Utah to Paul George Toner and Anne Kathryn Udy was an embodiment of compassion, creativity, support, and reliability. Lisa's humble beginnings in Provo and later in
Niagara Falls, NY, then
Rochester, NY, shaped her into the remarkable woman she was - a woman who valued family and faith above all. As she transitioned through the chapters of her life, living in South Dakota, Texas, Idaho, New York, and finally settling in Pleasant View, Utah, she carried her steadfast principles and endearing qualities along. She worked as an office manager at M&M Storage where she served diligently for 17 years. Lisa's dedication extended to her hobbies, which included crocheting, sewing, reading, baking, and most importantly, spending time with her beloved grandkids and family. Many of Lisa's family members and friends have benefited from her talents. She would often sew or crochet items to give as gifts to her family, such as purses and stuffed animals. During the Covid-19 pandemic she and her daughters sewed masks for medical workers.
Throughout her life, Lisa was an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Lisa served a faithful mission to Fukoka, Japan for 18 months, where she taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was surprised and scared to be sent to a foreign country. However, she faced her fears and was able to learn the language and develop Christ-like love for the people she served. Her Mission President promised her at the end of her mission that if she attended Brigham Young University her life would fall into place. Later, she served in various other capacities in the Church including the Young Women Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, as Den Leader in Cub Scouts, and as a Sunday School Teacher for the youth. Lisa's deep-rooted faith was reflected in her actions, her interactions, and her worldview. As the scriptures say, "Charity never faileth…" (1 Corinthians 13:8). Lisa embodied this verse through her love and generosity to those around her. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, contributing to the preservation of her rich heritage.
Lisa, a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother held her family at the heart of her existence. Her dream was always to be a mother, a role she cherished and excelled in. She leaves behind her loving husband, James Mackley, and their children: Rebekah (Terry James) Larson, Jared (Beth) Mackley, Benjamin (Ashley) Mackley, Katie Moore, and Emily (Chad) Tervort. Lisa also leaves behind 21 grandchildren. Her siblings, Stephen (Kathy) Toner, Jeni (Brett) Lindeman, David Toner, Aaron (JaKie) Toner, Carole (Tyler) Robertson, and Linea Toner, remember her fondly, along with her mother, Anne (Paul - deceased) Toner. Lisa was also a cherished in-law, aunt, and grandparent, leaving behind a host of relatives who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul (Anne) Toner, and mother-in-law, Paulene (James Reed) Mackley.
