Lisa McGilvary, age 56, resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. McGilvary, daughter of the late Joseph Quimbley and Imogene Dixon Quimbley, was born March 18, 1967 in Columbus, Georgia. She was a homemaker and Christian by faith. Mrs. McGilvary enjoyed taking trips to the beach and mountains; listening to country music; watching movies and Family Feud; and was an avid shopper. She also looked forward to cooking for herself and others and spending quality time with family and friends. The family remembers her as a loving mother and aunt – one who gave much to others; always wanting to spend time with her family, particularly her great niece and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Hamp McGilvary, Sr.
Mrs. McGilvary is survived by one son, Joseph Brandon McGilvary; an aunt, Nora "Wilene" Paul; two nieces, Bridget Nicole Trillet and Brittany Tenelle Graham; great-niece, Abigail; great nephews, Gunner and Nolan; first cousins, Glenda Wylie, Teri Paul Rogers, and Connie Owens; brother-in-law, Dennis Jon Beversdorf; other relatives and friends.
