Patricia Ann Gilbreath, 76, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Deacon Don Trimble.
Patricia was born in Columbus, GA on November 26, 1948, to the late Marshall and Reba Townsend. Patricia worked as a secretary with Legal Services for a number of years until retirement. She was an avid reader and loved Hallmark movies. She always made time to help her community, volunteering at the local food banks and serving Thanksgiving meals during the holidays. She loved doting on her grandchildren most of all. Patricia will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, William Gilbreath and parents, Reba and Marshall Townsend. She is survived by her children, Jodie Stone (John) of Carmel, IN and Jack Braswell (Melissa) of Phenix City, AL; sister, Ruby Weathers of Phenix City, AL; and grandchildren, Kathryn Moore, AJ Braswell, Madeleine Stone, and Alex Stone.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to either Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama or Valley Rescue Mission Women’s and Children’s Center (Damascus Way).
