Lisa E Passantino, 65, Independence, MO went home to Jesus on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Vincent Passantino, Jr., siblings James Shull, Robert Shull (Brenda), Stephen Shull (Kathy) and Mary Jo Taylor (Robert); stepchildren Marci Passantino and Vincent M. Passantino and as well as many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Norma Shull and sister-in-law, Catherine Shull.
Lisa’s career spanned 40+ years, serving as an executive assistant/event planner. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Avila University (2003) and was a graduate of William Chrisman High School, Independence (1978). Early in her career Lisa was a member of IAAP (previously known as Professional Secretaries International “PSI”) where she served in leadership roles including Chapter President (Westport Chapter, KC) and Missouri Division President. She also studied and obtained PSI’s Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) designation.
Lisa and Vince enjoyed a wonderful life as a married couple where they enjoyed traveling, entertaining family at holiday gatherings and playing golf. Lisa loved to cook and bake, often relying on Vince to serve as her “judge” when trying new recipes. She was also an avid crafty gal enjoying pursuits such as sewing, machine embroidery, gardening, home decor, reading and loving cats. Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Independence. The Holy Spirit often led her to break out in songs of praise to Jesus, whether while showering, working on crafts or enjoying the beautiful nature God created. Throughout her illness, Lisa exhibited a positive attitude and an unending faith in Jesus’ promise of eternal life. Her sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She desires that everyone accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior so that she can be reunited with them in Heaven. John 3:16.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held from 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20. 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church, 18000 E. Lexington Rd. Independence, MO 64058. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am until service time Saturday at the church.
A donation to New Hope Baptist Church to further their missions, bus and Friendship ministries is suggested in lieu of flowers. The family offers many thanks to ACG Hospice, especially Pamela and Aaron for their care during Lisa’s illness and the many friends and family who shared their prayers, love, meals and encouragement.
