Obituary of Liz Leibert
Liz Leibert, 88, die-hard Chicago Cub fan, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Sunrise Senior Living in Edina, MN. She was born October 30, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Charles and Edna Goulding.
Long-time resident of Elgin and Huntley, Illinois, she was a graduate of Mercy High School in Chicago and Elgin Community College and attended organizational management courses at University of Notre Dame. She was a member of St. Thomas More and St. Mary's Catholic Churches in Elgin and Huntley as well as a past member and Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. An avid bridge player, she also loved traveling, was open to new experiences, and had a zest for life. Employed for over 40 years, she grew into leadership positions with Elgin Chamber of Commerce and ultimately her dream job of stockbroker with Prudential-Bache Securities.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne Leibert of Alexandria, VA; her son, James Leibert and his wife Alessia and two cherished grandsons, Thomas and Nicholas Leibert of Edina, MN; her brother Charles Goulding of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Gordon Leibert and her parents.
A Celebration of Life for Liz is being planned for summer of 2025. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
