Llda Schellhase Obituary

Llda Loretta Schellhase, a cherished resident of Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 10, 1941, in Wheeling.
Llda devoted her career to serving the community as a dedicated cashier at Kroger, from which she retired with fond memories and lasting friendships. Beyond her professional life, Llda's passions included crocheting intricate patterns, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, nurturing vibrant flowers in her garden, relishing quiet moments of solitude and trips to the country with her friend, Carla-each hobby reflecting her gentle spirit and creative soul.
A faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Llda found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her throughout her life. Her warm presence and kind heart left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
Llda was preceded in death by her beloved father, Earl J. Schellhase; her mother, Kathryn (Young) Schellhase; her son, Patrick Schellhase; her brother, Earl J. Schellhase Jr.; and sister-in-law, Sandra.
She leaves behind several nieces and nephews along with dear friends Carla "Kiddo" Cook and Dick "Cookie" Cook, and their children Chris (Alexia) Cook and their grandchildren, Caleb and Ava. who were like family to her. Her friend Linda Baker also mourns her passing, cherishing the bond they shared.
In remembrance of Llda, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church at a later date to celebrate her life and legacy.
