Lloyd Green, born on June 27, 1950, transitioned peacefully on March 31, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Leroy and Odesser Green.
Lloyd was married for 45 years to the love of his life, Sheila Ann Green, who preceded him in death. Their marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and unwavering devotion.
He was a devoted brother to Nettie Scott, Odessa (Vanal) Parks, Jessie Moore, Audrey Bell, and sisters-in-law, Loreta Bradford, Lolita and Cheryl Green. He is also survived by his brothers, James Green, Oma Green and devoted brother Harvell (Brenda) Green. He now reunites in eternal rest with his wife and siblings who preceded him in death: Clarence Green, Aubrey Green, Mary Washington, Jean Claybrooks, and Mardra Albernathy.
Lloyd was a proud graduate of North High School, where he made a name for himself as an outstanding left-handed pitcher on the baseball team. His passion for sports led him to Tennessee State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in physical education. His love for baseball remained with him throughout his life, and he found great joy in golfing, his favorite pastime.
A proud veteran, Lloyd served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a long and dedicated career with the U.S. Tobacco Company, from which he later retired. His love for children led him to become a substitute teacher for Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Lloyd was a wealth of knowledge, a kind, humble, and funny man who could brighten any room with his wisdom and humor. His laughter was contagious, and his heart was always open to those in need. Whether sharing stories, giving sound advice, or simply enjoying a round of golf with friends, Lloyd was someone who made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Among those who cherished him deeply were his devoted nieces, Qiana (Patrick) Scales and Sazon Bradford, who held a special place in his heart. He was also blessed with the companionship of lifelong friends, Harold Moore, Kenneth Lee, and Calvin Robinson, who shared in his love for sports and good conversation. He leaves behind a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will forever remember his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
