Mr. Lloyd Lawson, Jr. was born on January 5, 1942 to the late Llyod, Sr. and Sarah Lawson in Florence, South Carolina. He was reared by his grandfather and grandmother, Richard and Gaynell Anderson. He departed this life Sunday, May 30, 2021.
Lloyd attended the Public Schools in Florence, South Carolina.
At an early age, Lloyd accepted Christ as his personal Savior, He joined Wayside Baptist Church and was baptized. Later years, he moved his membership to New Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Lloyd was married to Lillian B. Lawson for 41 years. He was a hard-working dedicated husband.
Lloyd was employed with Sears as a General Contractor, a Floor Covering Specialist for The Rug Shop, and as a foreman over the Upholstery Department at Lazy Boy East.
Lloyd played as lead guitarist for several local groups. He played for the Five Gospel Stars and the Golden Stars of Florence. He would do anything you ask of him. Lloyd was very talented and was loved by all that knew him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and four sisters, Diane Holloway, Helen Lawson, Delores Winfield, and Florence Myers.
Lloyd leaves to cherish precious memories: his devoted wife of 41 years, Lillian B. Lawson; five brothers, Richard Lawson of Franklin, Virginia, Robert Lawson of New Mexico, Ronnie Lawson of Suffolk, Virginia, Roger Lawson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Nicholas (Priscille) Lawson of Lake City, South Carolina; seven sisters, Betty Frierson of Columbia, South Carolina, Shirley Singletary of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Janet Fields of Bronx, New York, Linda (Walter) Stewart of Bronx, New York, Lillian (Mark) Freeman of Franklin, Virginia, Debra Lawson of Rayford, North Carolina, and Michelle (Edmond) Cockfield of Lake City, South Carolina; a special cousin reared in the home, Tommy Mitchell of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Bennett of Cartersville, South Carolina and Mary B. White of Florence, South Carolina; and a host nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, extended church family, and friends.
