RAYMOND -- A local hero in Union County, former Fire Chief Lloyd Allen Segner, died June 8, 2023. He was 76 years old and from Raymond, Ohio.
Born May 4, 1947, in Kenton, OH, son of Kenneth B. and Charlene (Hamilton) Segner. Graduate of Northwestern and Marysville HS in 1965. US Air Force Vietnam veteran. Carried on the Segner Construction family business with his father, and proudly passed it on to his son, Keith, and grandson, Klayton. Also worked at Honda in Marysville.
Started as a volunteer firefighter at 16. Dedicated nearly 60 years of his life to the Liberty Township Fire Department in Union County, serving 29 years as their fire chief.
Missed by wife, Donnette Segner; children: Keith (Dr. Amie) Segner, and Kellie (Michael) Moffett; 4 grandchildren; brothers: Jerry and Paul Segner; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation 2 - 8 pm on Thurs, June 15, 2023, Marysville Grace Brethren Church, 17240 Amrine-Wood Rd, Marysville. Masonic service 1:45 pm. Services honoring his life along with full fire department honors will also be held there at 11 am on Friday. Services will be livestreamed via (https://www.youtube.com/@marysvillegrace9588/streams). Burial with military honors provided by active duty members of the US Air Force and the Union County Honor Guard will follow in Raymond Cemetery.
