Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 18, 2024.
It is with great sadness to announce Lloyd Arthur Shearing born October 17,1945 peacefully passed on February 13,2024 at the age of 78. Lloyd is now reunited with his beloved wife Bonnie Mary Shearing (2022). Predeceased by his Mom and best friend Mildred Shearing(1989) and father Norman Shearing (1968), brothers Arnold (Gladys) and Jack (Maureen), sisters Muriel (Baden) and Dorothy Cole (2021).

Lloyd was a beloved dad and will be deeply missed by daughter Shannon (Gord), John (Marla), Pauline (Mark), Paul (Carol), Annette. He adored and deeply loved his grandchildren Brittany, Bailey, Easton, Dharma, Haden, Carissa, Rayanne, Christopher, Keenan, Lucas, Dolly and Morgan. A proud Great Papa to Quinton, Molly, Spencer and Hardy. Missed dearly by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Ontario and the USA. His brother in laws Marv(Karyn) and Al (Peggy) and sister in law Doreen(Bob) will miss him dearly. Fondly remembered by many dear friends who had the pleasure of having a beer with him, playing a game of pool, gone fishing with or joined Lloyd and Bonnie at their home for a party around the fire.

Lloyd retired from General Motors(2007). A life long passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a proud member of the Ridgeway Legion Branch 230, where he played in the pool league. He played many years for the Chippawa Villagers Oldtimers Hockey team and spent his summers playing softball. Lloyd loved his time playing ball at the Legion Branch 479 in Niagara Falls. His love of golf had him joining friends to tee off on Sundays at the Fort Erie Golf Club. Lloyd and Bonnie both enjoyed going fishing and their favorite place to be was Rice Lake.

Rest in the sweetest peace dear Daddy. We raise a glass to you!

A special thank you to the amazing staff at Linhaven Long-Term Care home in the Adams and Secord units for your extraordinary care and compassion.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Condolences to you & your family Shannon. I played ball and laughed with Lloyd twice a week in the summer for 10+ years before we moved West. Great memories of a fun loving man. Always had something to say to make me laugh. RIP friend.

I was driving truck back in the 70's , sitting at a stop light on lundy's lane when a firebird with t-tops pulled up beside me. Lo and behold it was my sister bonnie in the passenger seat.I looked down at her and said,"who is the old guy?
She laughed , he laughed as did I. We spent years and years of sarcastic humour together and he soon became my #1 fishin buddy. Gonna miss you outlaw, till we meet again. Say hi to my Sis , as I always do !

I will forever remember Lloyd for his special smile. We had the pleasure of being neighbors and friends. We'd hear the riding mower coming up the street and I knew to get coffee on so he and Joe could have their man time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shannon and families. Rest in Peace Lloyd
