Lloyd Andrew Zeringue passed away peacefully at Ochsner O'Neal surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 86. He was a retired sugarcane farmer and retired operator with Iberville Parish, resident of Plaquemine and a native of Modeste, LA. Lloyd was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the National Guard. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 11am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm, celebrated by Father Martin Lawrence. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce David Zeringue; daughters, Patti Zeringue (Karl Mitch Mayeux), and Heidi Zeringue; grandson, Michael Marionneaux (Sara Christine); siblings, L.J. Zeringue (Annette), Elsie Schexnayder (Arthur), Audrey Schexnayder, Jennie White (Billy), Kay Marix Martin (Al), Patsy Lamothe (Dale), Johnny Zeringue (Marilyn), and Debbie Willie (Jeff); sister-in-law, Gleeda Leonard Zeringue; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeanne LeBlanc Zeringue; and brother, Ray Zeringue. Pallbearers will be Michael Marionneaux, Karl Mitch Mayeux, Travis David, Kent Burgess, Austin Palmer, Blaine Callender, Monty Marionneaux, and Nathaniel Chaney. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Langlois, Brandon Cutrer, Arthur Schexnayder, III, Mark Zeringue, and David LoBue. Lloyd was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. His loves in his life were his grandson, his tractors, his Saints and Yankees. During his time in the National Guard, he was a boxer and was very proud of his accomplishments. Special thanks to Dr. Zackary Bruce, his staff, Dr. Talukder, his staff, Ochsner O'Neal Doctors and Nurses, Stat Home Health especially Laney Messina, Ivy Germillion, and Porsha Etienne, and St. Joseph Hospice their staff especially Randi Simon and Anisha Nelson for all their loving care and devotion shown to Lloyd. Also special thanks to Sister Dulce, Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center and staff, and to our church family at Household of Faith in Benton, AR for all of their prayers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center.
