It is with great sadness that the Hurt family announces the death of Logan Hurt on April 16th. He passed after a long battle with cancer at home with his family by his side. Logan was born July 31, 1958 in Atlanta, graduated from Briarcliff High School and attended University of Georgia for two years. He met his wife, Libby, in high school and they later married and had a daughter Laura. He lived and worked in Atlanta all his life in the construction industry. Logan had a sense of humor that everyone who knew him will remember and miss. He never met a stranger and had an endless zest for life. He was an avid fisherman, a music lover, and was a huge Indianapolis 500 fan. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Libby, his daughter, grandson and brother. There will be a memorial service held at Byrd & Flanigan on May 7 at 2:00 PM and the family will welcome visitors at their home afterwards.

I met Logan about 8 years ago on a fishing trip and he was a great and patient teacher (for a rookie fisherman- what´s a bowline knot or a spinner lure?). He was a gentle soul and loved to laugh, and knowing Googe enriched my life.
