Memorial services for Logan Jones, 20, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Central Christian Church in Portales with Pastor Don Thomas officiating.
Logan Cole Jones was born January 16, 2002 in Fort Worth, TX to Misty Lynn Murrell and Cory Brenton Jones and died July 28, 2022. From the age of 18 months Logan made his home in Portales. He was a 2020 graduate of Portales High School. While still in school, Logan began working as a cook at the Cattle Baron Restaurant, and even held a second job at the local Subway Sandwich Shop. At the time of his death, Logan was employed at the Roosevelt Brewing Company.
As a boy, he played Soccer. Logan loved to go fishing, and went to the lake or to Oasis State Park as often as he could. He always liked to listen to music, especially country. As soon as he graduated from high school, he asked his uncle, Quinton, to teach him to ride his dad's motorcycle, and from that time on he loved to go riding.
Logan was a very outgoing and friendly man, and had countless friends. When one of his good friends was battling brain cancer, Logan organized car washes and bake sales to raise money to defray expenses. He faithfully spent time in the hospital with his friend, and remained throughout the entire ordeal.
He is survived by his mother, Misty Murrell of Fort Worth, TX; his grandmother, Margie Jones of Portales, and his grandfather, Stanley Jones and wife, Kathy of Lubbock, TX; his uncles, Quinton Jones of Portales and Troy Murrell of Fort Worth, TX; an aunt, Amanda Briones of Monahans, TX; numerous cousins including Darian and Annika Jones and by his beloved little dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his father, Cory Jones on Nov 25, 2017.
