Lois June Bonkowski

Lois June Bonkowski (VanEe) of Macomb Township passed away December 15, 2025 at the age of 83.
Lois was born on March 12, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Theodore and Audrey (Leckner) VanEe. On April 22, 1958 Lois married Gerald Bonkowski in Harper Woods, Michigan. They were married 56 years when Gerald passed away in 2014. Lois worked for Utica Schools SACC program for many years a caretaker by nature and loved kids. She enjoyed feeding people and animals. Above all Lois loved her grandchildren; being a grandmother was her greatest joy. Lois was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed.
Beloved wife of the late Gerald; loving mother of David (Tracy) Bonkowski and Jeff Bonkowski; adored grandmother of Kayla, Dallas, Dolan and the late Brandon; devoted nana of William; cherished sister of Jacqueline Eichbauer; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Lois will be Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. instate at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place immediately following at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, Clinton Township.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Lupus Foundation or Humane Society of Macomb County.
