Lois Bowyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Mar. 7, 2026.
Lois Anne (Midge) Bowyer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at her home in East Liverpool on Thursday, March 5, 2026, after bravely facing a lengthy illness.

Midge was born in East Liverpool on March 25, 1946, to the late Kenneth C. and Rose Ellen Chronister Calhoun. She was 79 years old.

Midge was an excellent and attentive homemaker, setting an exemplary example for her children with her kindness, work ethic, and unwavering support. She nurtured her home and garden with great care, and her beautiful flowers were a source of pride and joy. Midge was renowned for her delicious wedding and birthday cakes, which were enjoyed by many. She was always present for her children, actively supporting their school activities and cheering wholeheartedly at her son's wrestling matches. Her generosity and encouragement touched everyone who knew her.

Midge's sister, Sue Grimm, niece, Dana Butt, and in-laws, Ed and Marian Bowyer, preceded her in death.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her husband, Robert A. Bowyer; her children, Tracy (Dave) Champ of Negley, Robert P. Bowyer of East Liverpool, Brook (Jenny) Bowyer of Columbiana, Missy (John) Jackson of East Liverpool, and Alicia Barnes, whom Midge embraced as an adopted daughter. Midge was a proud and adoring grandmother to Kayla (Nate) Bender, Jacob Champ, Aidan Bowyer, Caitlin Champ, Kaleb Jackson, and Annsley Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings, Andy (Cyndi) Calhoun of Barberton, OH, Kathy McNichol of Rogers, and Melissa (Craig) Poole of Pittsburgh. Midge's family and friends will forever hold dear the memories they shared with her and the loving influence she had on each of their lives.

Midge left explicit orders that no services be held. She wanted to be remembered as she was. Her arrangements have been entrusted to the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
