Evangelist Lois Marie Burdis a native of Assumption Parish and a longtime resident of Ascension Parish, transitioned on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was 74 years young. Musical and Visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Virginia Baptist Church, 145 Virginia Street, Paincourtville, Louisiana from 9:00 am until religious services at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by her siblings, Lawrence Burdis, of Thibodaux; Joyce (Herman) Johnson of Atlanta; Ethel (Robert) Joseph, Jr. of Napoleonville, Renard (Angela) Burdis of Houma, Bradford Wiggins and Dominique Wiggins of Napoleonville; nieces and nephews, Tim (Wanda) and Kim Johnson of Atlanta, GA; Carolyn (Roland) Spotts of Dallas, Texas; Charlotte Joseph of Thibodaux, LA and Robert (Amine) Joseph, III of Thibodaux, LA; Tyreka Johnson of Thibodaux and Damien, and Rayona Burdis, of Houma; one uncle, Rhula Birdis, Jr. of Labadieville, LA; three aunts, Francis Davis and Gloria Jacquot of Thibodaux, LA, and Elaine Burdis of Labadieville, Louisiana, and a host of other nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Florence and Rehula Burdis, maternal grandparents, Olevia and Horace Williams, paternal grandparents, Rehula Burdis, Sr. and Sarah Burns and grandmother, Helen C. Burdis; great-grandmother, Nancy McBride; brother, Raymond Burdis; nephew Renard Burdis, Jr. and sister, Rosie Jane Burdis.
